Overture to 'The Daughter of the Regiment'- Gaetano Donizetti
After all these years since HS band, I will never NOT miss and tear up from this song :(
I played this my freshman year of high school. Great memories! I wonder if anybody caught the musical "Easter egg" at 4:36? I won't give away what it is, but I'm just wondering if anyone else noticed it?
I played this in 7th grade. It was was awesome
flutes and clarinets at measure 97 eatttt
We played this in GMEA All-State, and took it this tempo. This sends literall shivers down my spine.
Gets this right, my middle school jazz band played this when I was younger, been whistling one certain part and just now remembered where I got it from, turns out I've been hitting the exact same notes the way they do
This year, one of the set pieces for sibf was this, it sounded so cool but then people straight up picked peregrin in a poll
I played this in 08 in my concert band I feel this song to my soul everytime I hear it I tear up or cry this song will forever be in my heart and soul
Ugh shout out to my mid 90s middle school band who scored a superior mark on this at every competition! I played it on alto sax and the next year again on baritone 🎷 ❤
We are playing this piece for our concert! It’s so beautiful. He’s such a talented man.
So cool, as a barista sax I played the solo and I was cooking. Greatest big band piece I have ever played.
I remember playing this in high school book, I was probably a sophomore when we played it. And thinking it was the coolest piece ever. That was before I discovered all the AMAZING orchestral music, like Beethoven, Dvorak, and Mahler.
2:16
This could also pass as a very classic horror film music
Played this song pretty recently in jazz band for a concert. Very good song 👍
French horn shall live forever(im 1st horn and got the solo)
Im playing this peace currently in middle school band im the best horn frll
As a first clarinet, why did Frank Ticheli feel the need to make me play 4 octaves in one song?
Soy ese
I'm just here cause I have to play this for honor band. We have our first rehearsal tomorrow night! This piece seems fun.
2:04 my favorite and best trumpet 1 part.
this makes me cry i’ll always miss this song
im so sad ill never be able to play this song again
I played this in 7th grade and our band got a national award for it
I really like playing this song. Performed this song during my senior year of high school in the symphonic band at Greenville High School in Greenville, Mississippi & once more at the University of Southern Mississippi in the concert band during my sophomore year. The piece was quite challenging indeed during my senior year of high school, yet we all played it flawlessly despite the controversial decisions from the judges at the Mississippi High School Association Band Festival. I played trombone on this amazing piece of music. 🎵
The flute part makes me sweat each time i play it, my poor fingers 😭😭😭
i love this trumpet solo! I just played this for all county!
Trumpets ❤
definitely didn't sound like this when we played it in junior high 1993 lol. We were terrible
WAY TOO FAST!!!! Supposed to be a slow march!
We’re playing this song in middle school band right now

We’re going to be playing this for my school jazz band and I remember my teacher didn’t play the full song and so I went home and listened to the full version and found out I had a piano solo (I’ve never had a solo and I’m so excited)
3:26 the oboe solo <3
Calling all oboists!!! This piece quite good ngl our school is working on it
Hello friend! Glad to see more of us!
We are playing this song right now in my school and I love it! The sheet music is so long tho lol
I’m playing this song in my high school band right now for music festival. I’m a clarinet player and I’m the only clarinet player that we have
Absolutely gorgeous French Horn part
